ＩＯＣ（国際オリンピック委員会）は官僚組織である。
スノーボードはＦＩＳ（国際スキー連盟）の傘下に押し込まれている。
スノボ界にとってこれは容認しがたい屈辱だ。
彼らは「スノーボードは独立した競技、文化」という誇りを持っている。

だから有力なスノーボーダーはＦＩＳのＷ杯に出ない。
主たる活躍の場はＸスポーツのイベントだ。
日本選手はどういう事情か知らないけどＦＩＳの大会にちゃんと出る。
有力選手の出ない大会だからいい成績を残す。
トリノ五輪ではこれが大きな誤解、喜劇を生んだ。
日本のメディアがＷ杯の成績を根拠に「優勝候補」を祭り上げた。
実際の結果はご存知の通りである。日本選手は惨敗した。
だらしないから、気持ちが弱いからそうなったんじゃない。
Ｗ杯の成績は全く意味の無い指標だったというだけである。
この国のスポーツメディアはまだ「鎖国」が続いているようだ。
「お前らそんなことも知らないのか」と呆れた。
